Quality of Life Consultation

We understand that saying goodbye to a beloved companion is hard, and that it's normal to feel doubt and even guilt over making this most difficult decision.  In some pets the decision can be very obvious when following a very sudden and dramatic decline, however, in other pets the decline may be more gradual with good days mixed in with the bad.  We can provide you with tools to evaluate your pet's quality of life, and to help you make a sensible decision.  We can help if you have questions or need assistance evaluating your pet's quality of life.  

Quality of life consultations include a thorough discussion about your pet's medical history, any changes you've observed, as well as a physical examination.  The benefit of our in-home service is that your pet can be observed in his or her natural environment.  The veterinarian may have suggestions on things you can do around the home to make daily life easier for your beloved pet, and may recommend treatments that haven't been tried yet.  The veterinarian will also help set realistic expectations about your pet's health going forward, always keeping their well-being as the number one priority.
