Pain Management/Senior Care Consultation

These visits are ideal for senior pets who could use some extra support, but who are not in the hospice phase of life yet.  We will address the pain that is so often present in our seniors.  We will work with you to examine ways to make life easier for them in the home, and we can give you tools to help manage cognitive decline.

During the initial appointment, the veterinarian will assess your pet and home set-up, potentially take a blood sample to assess overall health, and then develop a plan to keep your pet comfortable.  We will work closely to adjust treatment and medications to best benefit your pet.  Integrative treatment options, such as acupuncture for example, are a safe way to manage pain in animals with kidney, liver, and gastrointestinal issues that may be sensitive to typical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory treatments.
